Ianthe Roper and Richard Barter welcome you to Chezfreddie, a large family house in traditional Poitou-Charentes style, offering self-catering holiday rental accommodation (whole house or by room) for up to 11 adults and 4 children/babies.

Classified 4 star rental accomodation by the Department, this family house has 6 double, twin or triple bedrooms sleeping 13 adults or children. For smaller children, an additional two cots can be provided. All bedrooms are en-suite, centrally heated and furnished to a high standard. Chezfreddie’s rental accommodation is equally suited to family holidays or groups of friends. We are open all year.

The 1.5 acre garden offers an 11x5 metre heated salt water swimming pool (fenced to meet current security regulations), with a level playing area beside the swimming pool for games such as foot ball or volleyball. Further games such as bar football, table tennis and darts, plus a guest barbeque are also available. At the far end of the garden is a secluded orchard where you can chill out beside the river Boutonne.

We are situated in a tranquil corner of the village of Chérigné in Poitou-Charentes, one of the sunniest regions in France. Being at the southernmost end of the department of Deux-Sèvres, we are close to the neighbouring departments of Charente and Charente-Maritime, and within easy reach of the Atlantic coast. The airports of Poitiers and La Rochelle are less than an hour’s drive away.

Whether you are looking for a quiet place to relax, or somewhere with plenty of activities for all the family, you will find Chezfreddie to be a comfortable and well equipped venue. It is also the perfect venue for large family gatherings and for celebrations such as family birthdays.

The local area is ideal for enthusiasts of bird-watching, history, music, fishing, or cycling in gently undulating Poitou-Charentes countryside. A wide range of local attractions to suit all ages are within easy reach.

For smaller groups or individuals, Chezfreddie is also available on a room-only basis (chambres d'hôtes), except during July/August. We aim to be as flexible as possible in meeting your accommodation and catering needs, so please do contact us with your requirements.
