Originally a traditional farm house with outbuildings typical of the Poitou-Charentes region, Chezfreddie’s main house has been extended and renovated to a very high standard.
The owners, Ianthe and Richard and their two cats, Freddie and Fifi, live next to the main house in a cottage attached to an old bread oven.

The main house is available for holiday rental accommodation, either as self-catering accommodation, or by the room (chambres d'hôtes).
All bedrooms are on the first floor, and have full en-suite facilities.

The ground floor comprises:
A large dining-room (5 metres by 7.5 metres) with table seating 12 people, wood-burning stove (logs supplied in winter), piano and collection of books and board games. A high chair is available.

Guest lounge with TV (video/DVD player), large collection of videos and DVDs and music centre.
Large, fully-fitted kitchen with 5-burner gas stove, microwave and fridge-freezer.
Utility room with dishwasher, washing machine (7kg capacity), tumble dryer, iron and ironing board.
Bathroom with bath/shower and WC.

The garden covers a total of over 5000m2 (approx 1.5 acres). The lawn in front of the main house is shaded by lime and willow trees, and is used in warm weather for eating out. Beyond it is a level playing area for badminton, volleyball or football (equipment provided), next to the heated salt water swimming pool. Boules, table tennis, bar football, darts and bicycles are also available for guests’ use.
The heated salt water swimming pool is 11x5 metres with roman steps, and is 1.5 metres deep throughout. Sun-loungers are available on the patio surrounding the swimming pool, a real sun trap in warm weather, and there are changing facilities, a shower and WC in the adjoining pool house.
At the far end of the garden the orchard, well-stocked with fruit-trees, leads down to the river Boutonne, a class 1 fishing river.
A guest barbeque is available for all our guests to use. We are happy to provide help with all catering arrangements, please contact us with your requirements.

We can provide secure, under-cover garaging for guests arriving with motorbikes or bicycles.
